Dental Office Point Source Category 40 CFR 441

Dental facilities who place or remove amalgam are required to comply with the Dental office point source category, 40 CFR 441.

As of July 14, 2017, all new applicable dental facilities in our service area are required to install and maintain an approved dental amalgam separator and submit a one-time compliance report (within 90 days) to TSSD Pretreatment.

Facilities who fall into this new source category may need to make modifications to their plumbing and their management practices.

Existing dental facilities in business before the July 14, 2017 date will have an extended deadline of July 14, 2020 to meet 40 CFR 441 Pretreatment requirements.
